Shine Yorkshire are a friendly group of adults with cancer who meet up once a month in Yorkshire to spend time with other people who just ‘get it’. Our meet ups change monthly and we do a variety of activities such as, pubs, cafe’s, walks, craft, meals, etc. We’re run by volunteer Network Leaders who have their own diagnosis and we would love new people to come along and join us!
To find out about our next event please click below or drop the Yorkshire Network an email at yorkshire@shinecancersupport.org. We’d love to hear from you!
Meet Yorkshire’s volunteer network leader, Becca!
Cancer can be very isolating, and people aren’t always sure of how to act around you when you are or have been ill. Friend and family dynamics change, there’s a lot of uncertainty, and it can feel like so much is out of your control. Knowing that you’re not alone in this, and having people around you who are experiencing the same thing can be such a reassurance. And if it can be done over a glass of wine or a board game, all the better!”
