Shine Glasgow are a friendly group of adults with cancer who meet up once a month in Glasgow to spend time with other people who just ‘get it’. Our meet ups change monthly and we do a variety of activities such as, pubs, cafe’s, walks, craft, meals, etc. We’re run by volunteer Network Leaders who have their own diagnosis and we would love new people to come along and join us!

Meet Glasgow’s volunteer network leader, Rachel!
“I’m Rachel, I live just outside Glasgow. I was diagnosed with Follicular Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2021 at the age of 31. While my cancer is viewed as incurable and chronic I have finished a couple of years of treatment and am now on “watch & Wait”.
I came across shine about a year ago after searching for information and support for younger people.
The support from others at shine has been excellent and I was delighted when the lovely Emma, my fellow network leader, popped a post on the Facebook group asking about networks in Glasgow and the west. In my everyday life I am a library assistant and love the surprising variety my job brings.
I also, unsurprisingly, love a good book, spending time with my family, and looking forward to the next holiday!”
