Shine Dorset are a friendly group of adults with cancer who meet up once a month in Dorset to spend time with other people who just ‘get it’. Our meet ups change monthly and we do a variety of activities such as, pubs, cafe’s, walks, craft, meals, etc. We’re run by volunteer Network Leaders who have their own diagnosis and we would love new people to come along and join us!

Meet Dorset’s volunteer network leader, Rosie!
“Hi I’m Rosie. I was diagnosed with Stage 2e Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2021 when I was 27. I had intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy and found myself in remission in 2023.
I found Shine after a session with my NHS councillor during treatment. I attended my first meet up and the rest is history! I felt so supported and grateful to be in a place with so many people who just understood what shine was all about. I love being a shine network leader and supporting others. We often try to plan different styles of meet ups so that everyone feels included and we hope that Shine Dorset can be a little ray of sunshine for anyone who might need it.“
